More than 175 riders took on the narrow lanes and sharp turns of a 0.6-mile course in downtown Beaufort on Tuesday for the second annual Beaufort Memorial Cycling Classic. The women's race went 50 laps and the men's 80. Thousands lined the course to watch.

In a development that could have implications for the Tour of Missouri bicycle race later this summer, the Astana cycling team was invited to compete in the Spanish Vuelta. The team had been banned from the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia because of doping violations.
