The reason: The best one-two punch in the Coachella Valley, this senior duo led Cathedral City all the way to the final four of the CIF tournament. Gilchrist, a three-time tournament MVP, and Custer, selected DVL MVP and three times all-tournament, led the Lions to is best record in school history at 27-2. Both were also the only players from the DVL to be honored as first-team all CIF.
